recipes will be entered to win the 2009 annual Grand Prize—worth
up to $10,000 in cash or merchandise. Enter your original recipes
(recipes never before published) in Prize Tested Recipes' contest,
which features two new categories each month. Each month we
publish four winning recipes (top two recipes in each category).

appliance to prepare a main dish, side dish, appetizer, or dessert— just be
sure that your original recipe has no m ore than eight ingredients. Need
ideas? Hearty soups or stews, sim m ered meats, and casserole-type recipes
fill the bill for main dishes. M aybe you slow -cook stuffing, potatoes, or saucy
veggies. Sim m ered drinks, fruit cobblers, and hot dips are m ore possibilities.

Several interesting vegetables can star in your
original recipe for this category. Kale, greens (collarctyturnip/ mustard),
rutabagas, parsnips, turnips, sweet potatoes, winter squash, cabbage,
Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, bok choy, and artichokes are all
possibilities. Select a veggie— or tw o or three— then bake, simmer, boil,
steam, o r saute them. Add a sauce and/or seasoning and send in your best
recipe idea.

Mediterranean Penne Pasta

DIRECTIONS
1. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Cover to keep warm.
2. Melt Fleischmann’s® in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add olives, garlic and capers; stir.
Cook 30 seconds, or until garlic is golden brown, stirring constantly.
3. Add tomatoes; stir. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add pasta and basil; toss lightly. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.

prepared in 20 minutes or less and use no more than five (5)
ingredients, plus basic ingredients nor maty found in your pantry,
such as salt, pepper, olive oil. etc. The Persona' Favorites category
may include any recipe that does not fit into any of the oilier
categories. Recipes entered in the Good & Healthy category must
limit the number of calories from fa: to no more than 35 percent of
total calories in the recipe, including saturated fat of no more than
7 percent of the total and trans fatty acids (trans fats) of no more
than 1
percent of the total.
